200 Jobs – Is That It?

13 May 2009 09:02:00

“It is encouraging indeed that the Ministry of Social Development is planning to shed 200 jobs but in reality this is just tokenism. The whole ministry must be closed down and compulsory welfarism discarded completely as it only serves to promote poverty and misery.” This was from Peter Osborne, the Libertarianz Social Welfare Spokesman today.

He says, “The logic used to justify institutionalised welfarism is flawed and the results of this logic, after only a few generations, are there for all to see. Poverty levels have risen consistently. Increased violent crime, increasing suicide rates and gang association, to name a few, are through the roof.”

“These problems have not arisen as a matter of natural evolution. We find ourselves in this situation because our governments have systemised and perverted the idea of watching out for those around us. In one fel swoop, we have rendered swathes of our population to an existence of helplessness; Unable to even make self enhancing decisions or to show any ability to adapt to change. In effect our beloved governments have made the most vulnerable amongst us even more vulnerable. The real travesty is that the rest of us have been detached from the struggling and vulnerable amongst us and for the privilege we are forced to bankroll this mess.”

Mr Osborne concludes, “Libertarianz recognises state enforced welfarism for what it is. We are all witnessing the repercussions of allowing our government to control areas of life that we as individuals should control ourselves. Unfortunately, most us have become so intellectually vulnerable that we’ll believe anything we’re told to believe, regardless of the very real consequences we see before us.”

“It’s Enough to Make you Vote Libertarianz!”
