The Waiheke Distillery is located on Mt Ngongotaha, a small mountain in the Hauraki Gulf, about halfway between Waiheke and Auckland City. Waiheke Estate Winery, just north of Waiheke, is home to four award winning wines. Their other offerings include; Sparkling Wine, Waiheke Shiraz, Waiheke Australian Shiraz and Waiheke Zinfandel. While the Waiheke wineries are not located on the Waiheke Island itself, they are close by, as you are just walking distance to the Waiheke marae (warrior statue). Waiheke Estate Winery tours are available, tasting the wines, walking the vineyards and touring the facility. Your tasting visit to Waiheke will also allow you to purchase an official Waiheke bottle, for you to take home as a souvenir.
Waiheke City Shopping Village Waiheke City is home to many small shops, boutiques and restaurants. The Waiheke wine tour is perfect for taking in all of your Waiheke city shopping needs. There are two locations to shop, one inside the Waiheke Ferry terminal and the other just outside on the Ferry. Waiheke Ferry terminals are open daily from Monday to Friday, offering several different types of transportation for your convenience. On select days, there is also a free Waiheke Ferry ride.
