Broken English Should Go, Say Libz

Libertarianz Party leader Richard McGrath today called for John Key to deliver Finance Minister Bill English’s head on a pike, following revelations that government borrowing over a single week approached the billion dollar mark recently.

“With a general election a matter of months away, Bill and John are engaged in a spending frenzy, just as Labour was in the lead-up to the 2005 and 2008 elections. What’s worse, they have the gall to call this a balanced budget.”

“New Zealand is fast becoming another Greece, Portugal or Ireland. Laws need to be passed urgently to prohibit politicians spending money we don’t have. We simply have to tighten our belts and stop racking up further debt.”

Dr McGrath said yesterday’s Budget was a pathetic attempt to rein in spending. “In 2007, our party came out with a five year plan which would enable the abolition of taxation; the privatization of health, education and welfare; and the beefing up of our justice, police and defence departments; all done without borrowing a cent.”

“These are desperate times and radical measures are called for. The Libertarianz Party’s policy of deregulation and laissez-faire would prevent New Zealand from becoming another victim of the Keynesian borrow-and-spend voodoo economics practiced by both National and Labour.”
