Libertarianz Party leader Richard McGrath has come out in support of several policies recently proposed by Mana Party candidate John Minto.
“My party backs a number of suggestions made by Mr Minto, because they would increase the economic and social freedom of all New Zealanders without imposing new restrictions on anyone.”
The policies we endorse are:
- Abolishing GST
- Having a tax free band at the bottom of the income range
- Encouraging full employment
- Allowing free negotiation between employers and employees
- Treating Pacific Islander and Australian immigrants equally
- Allowing Samoan immigration
“However, in contrast to Mr Minto, we would achieve these goals by freeing up the economy, stripping both Big Business and trade unions of the ability to coerce and threaten others, and removing the bogus right for anyone living here to receive a benefit paid for through the involuntary plunder of some other New Zealander’s assets.”
Dr McGrath said the Libertarianz Party would call time on the unchecked government borrowing, taxation and spending practised by both National and Labour.
